Spring Break!

Filed under: Cool @ 3:30 pm

Don’t you hate it when you take an exam and you get to a question where you know the answer but choose the wrong one? That’s the story of my life. :wallbash:

Anyways, the long awaited Spring Break has arrived! Winter is soooo long. In fact it snowed last night. Now I have to pack up my stuff and move it before people get here on Wednesday. It’ll be nice seeing old faces again. We’ll have fun in Toronto.

Here’s the weather for the next ten days in Detroit and Toronto.

Google desktop search is so cool

Filed under: Cool @ 3:20 pm

A couple months ago, I tried out Google’s Desktop Search thing. It wasn’t too useful at first. But now I’ve realized it’s amazing. Probably because it now searches mp3s, videos, IMs, pictures, browser history, emails, office docs, and more all at once. It now supports Firefox too! You can just go to Google’s main page and search from there, providing desktop results plus web results. Not only that, it doesn’t send any of your information over the web and the tiny crawling program (under 5MB) resides on your computer.

Oh, and happy birthday to Erika. :drunk:

Angeline’s dad like to forward jokes. Here’s lame one but it’s gotta put a smile on your face.

Once upon a time, there lived a woman who had a maddening passion for baked beans. She loved them but unfortunately, they had always had a very embarrassing and somewhat lively reaction to her.

Then one day she met a man and fell in love.

When it became apparent that they would marry she thought to herself, “He is such a sweet and gentle man, he would never go for this carrying on.”

She made the supreme sacrifice and gave up beans.

Neighbors

Filed under: Crazy @ 5:46 pm

So my neighbor across the hall has been moving stuff out for the past couple weeks or so. I saw him in the hallway and he said he’s been sorta "dragging" it [moving] out since December. So I think well, he’s just going month-to-month. He also has two big dogs named Tyson and Tasha that never really caused trouble or too much noise. I didn’t tell him I was moving out too but I was sorta thinking to myself that, man, Riverfront is losing two people on our floor.

But look what I saw this weekend posted on his door:
Eviction notice

Transferred my soul today

Filed under: Updates @ 6:43 pm

I think it only takes one signature to sign over your soul, but I counted at least 11 signatures and 8 initials. We officially rent an apartment at Regents Park of Troy. 😯

We got a nice one bedroom one point five bath with a nice little laundry room and breakfast area in the kitchen. The total square footage is up from 950 sq.ft. to 1050 sq.ft. but the apartment overall seems smaller. Maybe since there’s no more separate den which means I’ll probably put my study in the formal dining area and figure out a way to separate it from the living room. I’m gonna miss the place I’m in now though. I always thought I’d just live here for 4 years. I’ll miss the nice solid cement floors and ceilings; the view of the river; the aura of high-rise living in urban downtown (but only on a good, safe day); the shoddy personnel and security gate. What I’ll probably miss most though is the short drive to school which went from 10 minutes max to 25 or more depending on traffic. Sigh. :(

Not all is lost however. Our new place is practically brand new with all new modern styling, fixtures, appliances, and oh yeah, underground parking. We’ll finally have a full-size washer and dryer with a separate laundry/storage area. The heating and cooling can be used year round too instead of having only heating or cooling at one time during a warm spring or cold fall. Our building is not on the side with the club house but we’ll still have access to an indoor pool, sauna, workout room, children’s playroom :P, theatre room, library/study, blah blah blah. There’s plenty more places to go and eat around Troy and lastly, it seems a lot safer.

WordPress to the rescue

The grass really is greener.

Blogger was too slow and didn’t have enough options. There was no way to really customize it or add/remove features. So now my trusty arse is powered by WordPress.

I’m thinking of getting rid of the faces on each post. But I sort of like them. Should I?

Finally back up

For over a week, liteserv.com has been down. This meant everything was down.

Well, now I’m with another hosting service and things are much better so far.

I’ll probably switch to a better blogging software and add image hosting because the forum album is a bit cumbersome.
