~100% assimilated

Filed under: Sad @ 11:09 pm

Yesterday, I came closer yet to being back to a full Californian by registering my car here. I was sad when I took off my vanity plate from Michigan and put it under my glass desktop for display. But I’m still going to hang onto my Michigan driver license!

Sigh.

For the past year our lives have slowly built up to this huge climax, the wedding. Now that we’ve slowly come back down from heaven, I’ve had time to toss together this album of our honeymoon. Here are roughly 280 selected from out of over 1600! Sigh…

Winter is official

Filed under: Sad @ 6:49 pm

In case you didn’t notice the sweaters and coats; in case you didn’t find the days getting shorter and shorter; in case you didn’t see the leaves turn and fall; in case you didn’t see the frost in the mornings; just in case, Mother Nature decided to make us notice.

Winter!

Terror strikes eggling

Filed under: Sad @ 12:16 pm

This morning our faithful puppy, Yuki, discovered a clear and present danger on our table requiring immediate attention and prompt annihilation. Before this, the eggling was slowly establishing itself in an uprising of bushy green stalks with a clear view to the outside world. Thanks to Yuki’s swift action, the eggling is no more. There was no evidence of a struggle as only a few sandy entrails were strewn onto the table.

Dead eggling

In an effort to resuscitate it, I quickly added water to the sad, lifeless pot but I must report that the prognosis for a full recovery is poor. Thanks Jackie, but the eggling had no chance against Yuki’s surprise attack. Sadly, we only have memories of the eggling’s birth (an eggling is born).

Yesterday…

…all my troubles seemed so far away.

Now I have to study.

It took us another 10 and a half hours to get back. But not before stumbling upon the birthplace of KFC in no other place than the peculiar state of Kentucky; and certainly not before being almost run off the hwy by a U-Haul at 85 mph. Kentucky offered some other amusement with it’s weird names: there was a Stinking Creek and a Big Bone Lick National Park among others. I wonder if it has anything to do with KY Jelly.

Thanks to Jason for his southern hospitality (but he says he’s from Cali and doesn’t have any) and Tony the kazoo (clip) and Brian for flying out a mere 12 hours after they decided to come.

Road trip to Ikea

So I’m brushing my teeth and thinking about tomorrow’s trip when I reach this conclusion: we are pretty lame.

Map to IKEA

It’s pretty funny that we planned a trip to IKEA. In fact, it was difficult just choosing which IKEA to visit. It was between Chicago (300 mi) or Toronto (225 mi), which has 4 IKEAs btw. After all the fuss, it was decided–Schaumburg, IL here we come! I’ll try to take some cool pics of our dopeass Enterprise pick-up truck. It’ll be so cool! Hahahaha.

So I’m about done blogging when I reach this other conclusion: I still miss Cali.
