For some reason, this guy/girl (can’t tell from the name), keeps sending me mail encouraging me to open up a new line of credit with Capital One. Not only does this piss me off, it is an absolute waste of paper. With the advent of email where the only waste is the energy required to drive the electrons toward Gmail’s excellent spam filters, there is no excuse for such negligent waste upon futile experiments like sending me offers. Not only is it completely irresponsible, it is a covert attack on my financial identity! I have to take great care to be sure I tear/shred each one just in case a different breed of freak tries to open up a line of credit for me. It’s insane. Then, I look at the rubbish container beside our group of mailboxes overflowing with junk ads located disgusted to realize there are three more such things scattered about the complex. When the wind blows, some of the squandered tree products end up on the ground only to get caught in the storm drain already clogged with yesterday’s edition of dead trees.

I’m beginning to think that in the age of email, the only reason the US Postal Service allows for this and isn’t charging a dollar per ounce is the vicious cycle evidenced by the “Presorted Standard U.S Postage Paid” printed within the little square on the corner of all my trash (if someone already thought of this first, I apologize). I don’t think the mailman would appreciate it either if I started putting Yuki’s poo in my box. :rant:

So I saw my white co-intern messing around online and he was taking this quiz. The quiz tries to determine your ability to distinguish between three asian races (Chinese, Japanese, and Korean) by evaluating simple head shots. The outcome was the he got 7 of 18 while I got a measly 2 better than he. I guess I’m not truly asian. :crybaby:

Flash flood

Whoa. Flood. It’s been pretty cold lately, and the designers of the building conveniently put some water pipes along the exterior walls. On the top floor above us, one of these pipes finally froze and ruptured. This then led to water spewing into the walls and seeping through the light fixtures and drywall seams in our kitchen and our foyer. Combined with the annoying emergency alarm system, it was an interesting night. It’s been over 2 days and the carpet that got wet is still a little damp.

Boo-rat

I have no idea how this “movie” deserved the amazing ratings and rave reviews on such sites as movies.yahoo.com and rottentomatoes.com. There was even a review that was titled, “Bor-avo!” Sick. The movie should have been hilarious considering the supposed content but it ended up being ridiculous. Even after reading the production notes it was totally not believable and seemed mostly confabulated. Despicable. I came out wishing my nine bucks went to the real poor people of Kazakhstan instead of that fake bastard. The movie was shit. :thumbdown:

Coffee is addicting

So coffee really is addicting.

No so much to the caffiene, but just trying to see if you can make half-decent coffee and enjoy it at home. Supposedly, there is nothing better than freshly roasted and ground beans brewed just before serving.

I caved and returned my all-in-one grinder/brewer and got an entry level grinder and a good drip brewer. So far, so good. Snobs will say there is no such thing as a good drip brewer so as long as I have this, I’m not a coffee snob.

Yesterday I made some excellent iced coffee. :jittery:

Let’s imagine a chipmunk laughing like crazy. Then slow it down probably 20 notches. “Ha.” Silence. “ha.” Long silence. “ha.” For about 90 minutes. :smoke: What a piece of shit movie. Anyone who told me it was good needs to give me $2 for making me buy it.
