As he hurls through space, the blue-green planet slowly comes into view. With a flick of the controls, he begins his approach at astronomical speeds. The mission: test out the new navigational system recently downloaded into his ship’s mainframe.
Floating hundreds of miles above the surface, he gently navigates over a funny S-shaped land mass. Midway through his descent, a sign that reads, “Grand Canyon,” suddenly becomes visible. Strange, he thinks to himself…
Seconds later, Las Vegas…then Los Angeles–[pause]

This has been posted before on Jason‘s site a while back but I heard it on the radio just now and it reminded me of it.

This stupid game is something Brian found. 20 minutes later I am victorious.

A while ago, I posted about Sigalert.com and it’s greatness. I’ve discovered a tool like this for most metropolitan cities:
>> Greater Detroit – Yahoo! Maps with Traffic Info
They aren’t as detailed but it’s something. If you look at the map of the greater Detroit area, you can almost see all the pot holes represented by the dots.

…all my troubles seemed so far away.
Now I have to study.
It took us another 10 and a half hours to get back. But not before stumbling upon the birthplace of KFC in no other place than the peculiar state of Kentucky; and certainly not before being almost run off the hwy by a U-Haul at 85 mph. Kentucky offered some other amusement with it’s weird names: there was a Stinking Creek and a Big Bone Lick National Park among others. I wonder if it has anything to do with KY Jelly.
Thanks to Jason for his southern hospitality (but he says he’s from Cali and doesn’t have any) and Tony the kazoo (clip) and Brian for flying out a mere 12 hours after they decided to come.

This headline reminded me of my “emulation” on my lappy. So I checked the forums and found an updated version of FlyakiteOSX v2.0. Here’s a screenshot of my desktop now:
If anything at least check out that website. It’s the most unique site I’ve ever seen.
Another unique program I’ve stumbled upon was this little program bundled with v2.0 called RKLauncher. It’s still in beta but the author releases nightly builds that I’ve tried. RKLauncher (nightly) emulates the launcher from Mac OSX. It’s the thingy usually found at the bottom of the desktop that allows you to launch programs and magnifies when you move your cursor over it. It’s also dynamic in that you can have “docklets” that show the weather, battery power, or even daily comics (I have Calvin and Hobbes).

“This is one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in a long time.” — Angeline
“LOLOLOLOLOL!” — Me
Go see it. I finally got to see the rest of the movie after I watched part of it on Jason’s scratched up DVD.

Airbus has this cool new plane–the A380. It’s the largest commercial airliner and its maiden flight was today.
Check out the mini-site for it. There are some cool videos. If you go to the “Learn and Play” section there are some cool facts about the new A380 such as being able to carry up to 555 passengers and that the wings flex upwards by over 13 ft on take-off!
