Born Nov. 12, 2005, from Hartville, Ohio, Yuki is a, small female half maltese-half toy poodle mix, we hope. Yuki (yoo-kee, not yucky) is supposed to mean snow in Japanese. At first I thought it would be a cheesy name, but it grew on us and we settled with it. She came with a little monkey toy named Kong and loves trying to kill him!
We set her up in a little pen in our utility room. She’s got a nice little bed, her toys, and a litter pan. We started her with little blue wee-wee pads and then moved to the pan by putting a piece of the pad in there to start. She is just 9 weeks old and in less than a week she learned to mostly do her business in the proper place! She still makes mistakes, but that’s what stain and odor remover, a little scrubbing, and some baking soda powder are for.
So far, she is pretty obedient and is very curious. She is like a little sheep. Here she is meeting Kramer for the first time.
Yuki went to the vet yesterday and got her second set of shots as well as some medicine because she has some parasite in her stool. She weighs 2 lbs. 8 oz. Hopefully she’ll stay small and full of energy.
